Full Time Rotational Chef in Hollywood (Travel!)
An ultra-high-net-worth family seeks a private chef primarily based in Los Angeles, with the flexibility to travel as needed. English is the primary language spoken in the household. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional menu-planning skills and a commitment to providing unparalleled customer service to both the principals and their guests.
Qualifications:
• Extensive international experience in Michelin-starred restaurants, including authentic sushi expertise.
• Minimum of five years of experience as a private chef in ultra-high-net-worth households.
• Previous roles as chef de cuisine, executive chef, or higher in Michelin-starred establishments.
Responsibilities:
1. Ordering & Inventory: Responsible for all food and beverage ordering in coordination with other chefs and butler.
2. Family and Entertaining Aspects:
• Family Aspect: Prepare meals for children under five and accommodate family friends, parents, and nannies (4-5 on staff at a time) with kid-friendly, family-style dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• High-End Entertaining: Provide fine-dining, Michelin-quality meals for business events and entertaining. Breakfast typically includes one course and fruits; lunch may include one course and a low-carb dessert; dinner involves 3-5 courses, ensuring the entire experience does not exceed three hours.
3. Service Expectations: Chefs must be able to serve without assistance for up to three guests, setting the ambiance with table settings, lighting, music, and wine/drinks. For four or more guests, a server will assist.
4. Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, prep stations, pantry, and refrigeration areas, optimizing workflow. Chefs are expected to assist with table setting for the next day and offer input on kitchen design.
5. Dietary Flexibility: Adapt to evolving dietary preferences, including keto, paleo, Whole30, vegan, heart-healthy, low-sodium, gluten-free, and dairy-free.
6. Professional Conduct: The principals prefer quiet service, only briefly communicating main preferences. Chefs must maintain an elegant, unobtrusive presence.
Schedule & Collaboration:
• Full-time role with shared responsibility: work 3.5 days per week in rotation with other chefs
• Typical hours can begin at 6 AM or end at 11 PM. with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and occasional extended hours.
Travel Requirements:
• Extensive travel across the U.S. and internationally
• Must hold all necessary passports and be prepared to manage catering on private aircraft and yachts, occasionally collaborating with other chefs.
