Landscape Maintenance Supervisor
Responsible for all Landscape Operations for maintaining the grounds of the estate, including irrigation, planting, watering, pruning and shaping, fertilizing, pest management and overall health and well being of the landscape, hardscape and waterscape features on the property.
Full Time Position
Reports to: Landscape Operations Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the grounds including irrigation, pruning and shaping, fertilizing, pest management, and overall health and well-being of the landscape, hardscapes and water features on the Properties, including the following functions:
Manage the irrigation controller daily and create daily work orders for irrigation adjustments and repairs.
Maintain all lawns by making sure they are mown to correct heights and see that the proper equipment is used.
Prune and shape all hedges to design specifications and schedules.
Manage and implement a fertilization program that is safe and effective for the well-being and health of all plants on the Property including interior plants and water plants, applying the appropriate amounts, types and application for lawns, ground covers, shrubs and trees.
Assist the Landscape Operations Manager in an integrated Pest Management process for all types of pests in the garden by using an organic approach where possible.
Maintain and implement a clean and tidy Property grounds free from leaves, debris and soils by executing a daily site cleanliness program.
Monitor and report soil conditions, both dry and wet, to the Landscape Operations Manager and assist in mitigating any soil problems.
Maintain an equipment inventory and storage of all landscape products and supplies in a highly clean, organized, and consolidated manner.
Maintain all hardscapes to a level of no stains or problems within your control and report any problems both minor and major to the Landscape Operations Manager.
Assist the Landscape Maintenance Manager with onsite supervision of landscape staff and any contractors associated with the landscape and water feature work.
Meet scheduled work and timelines established by the Landscape Operations Manager.
Maintain functioning swimming pools, spas and water features plus all associated equipment, tools and surfaces at highest cleanliness and functionality to estate and operations standards on a daily basis. Surfaces include all underwater surfaces including metals, stone, tile, glass, grout, adhesives, fixtures, lights, fittings and covers.
Maintain all pump and filtration systems to proper operation for safety and functionality.
Record all maintenance practices on a daily record and provide Manager with weekly updates for all general conditions.
Manage all vendors and storage for inventory of pool and fountain supply's to a level of covering a normal monthly maintenance cycle of supplies including plumbing parts, fittings, piping, glues and solvents, chemicals, filters and all associated tools for completing all work without delays due to material ordering.
Report all water related issues to Landscape Operations Manager and coordinate with onsite Management immediately.
Be prompt and on time to all meetings, scheduled work and all timelines established by the Landscape Operations Manager.
Other duties as assigned by the Estate Manager and Landscape Operations Manager.
Other Requirements:
Must have a valid and current Drivers License and be able to drive assigned company vehicles as needed.
Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis and be able to work on various slopes, grades
and on various surfaces including lawns, tarps, concrete, soil, mulched areas and other hardscape.
Must be able to communicate in English, either written or orally.
Must have a positive approach to problems and situations that may arise during the course of the work shift.
