Full Time Estate Manager in NYC

Experienced full-time Estate Manager needed to take full charge of a large estate in the New York City area. The Estate Manager will report to the Director of Estates.

We are seeking an Estate Manager who is not only skilled in their core responsibilities but also proactive in anticipating client needs and addressing challenges before they arise. This role requires a hands-on approach, working independently with the ability to step in and take action when necessary. Candidate must have experience working with diverse service teams, including chefs, housekeeping staff, and vendors. This is a hands-on position, and the Estate Manager is expected to lead by example, pitch in wherever needed, and have a service first mentality.

Primary Responsibilities:

The Estate Manager will be responsible for the management, maintenance, upkeep, and repair of the property. Typical tasks will include, but are not limited to the following:

• Source, hire, schedule and manage household employees and contractors to ensure household and property needs are met.

• Highly experienced and effective at managing large teams.

• Estate Manager must have experience understanding smart home systems and ensure technology is fully always functioning.

• Source, schedule, and manage approved contractors or vendors for various property tasks and projects.

• Operate, maintain, and implement security measures, devices, and plans in cooperation with the client’s security provider.

• Develop an overall maintenance plan & schedule for all buildings, structures, landscaping, and grounds.

• Manage an operating budget, including reviewing and approving all invoices as well as regular reporting.

• Make purchases, book reservations, and run errands.

• Plan and manage events of all sizes.

• Ensure guests staying at the property have a five-star hotel experience from arrival to departure.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years Estate Manger experience, preferably for larger high-end homes.

• Experience in service, and hospitality sector preferred.

• Ability to anticipate client needs and take preemptive actions.

• Highly experienced and effective at managing teams.

• Prior construction project management experience preferred.

• Extensive experience overseeing everything from small to exceptionally large events preferred.

• Strong decision-making/critical thinking skills.

• Comfortable being hands-on in various tasks, from strategy to execution.

• Obsessively attentive to details.

• Organized, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Must be highly proficient in all aspects of personal computing, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable transportation.

• Authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of thorough background investigation and reference check.

Schedule:

This is a live-out, exempt, full-time position. Candidate must be flexible and willing to work weekends and potentially on Holidays. Schedule is generally (5) days a week (Monday-Friday) while the client (s) and/or guests are not on-site. When clients are in the residence, hours will increase/change as needed just before, during and after a client visit; long hours should be expected during these times.

Compensation: As required by applicable Pay Transparency laws, the Company provides a range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in locations under these requirements. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include a wide array of things including: your specific skills and experience, geographic location, or other relevant factors. The starting pay for this position is: between USD $200k and $225k.
