Full-Time Chef in Menlo Park
We’re looking for an experienced Full-Time Chef for a busy UHNWI in Menlo Park. This position will work closely with the Executive Chef facilitating the preparation of nutritious and health-focused meals, designing menus, and ensuring the kitchen operations are running smoothly. The weekly schedule will remain subject to change by the Principal (no more than 5 days/week & max 3 meals/day).
Responsibilities include:
Preparing and serving meals
Preparing “ready to heat” meals
Assisting with dinner parties/events
Cleaning and organizing the kitchen
Stocking and maintaining the pantry at Principal’s residence and office
Traveling with Principal
Qualifications:
Culinary Arts degree or a min of 3 years of experience in 2/3 Star Michelin kitchens. Preference to those with 5+ years of experience in fine dining restaurants or a combination of restaurant and private chef experience
Must be open to working most holidays including Thanksgiving and New Year
Ability to create inventive, original, and also nutritious and balanced dishes on a regular basis
Ability to work under pressure with deadlines and changing priorities, maintaining a calm demeanor
Must have a keen understanding of food/kitchen sanitation and able to maintain a neat and safe kitchen
High-energy and ability to grasp new concepts quickly
Organized, efficient, punctual, reliable, creative
Ability to gracefully accept direct feedback
Must be able to handle very sensitive and highly confidential issues with diplomacy and discretion
Proactive, positive, and flexible team-player
Ability to provide on-call availability and responsiveness during non-business hours
